This Sailor Pro Gear Sapporo with 14K medium nib is smooth sailing all the way. I tested it with Bung Box imperial purple which is a very wet and saturated ink so I had an ideal situation but any ink in this pen has proven to write incredibly smooth. The Sapporo is a smaller pen but very comfortably posts light and keeps the pen balanced. If you have big hand you may want the regular size but that's the only draw back at all and it wasn't for me. Love this pen . . . can't say enough good things about it. They do make a 21K pen as well but I was just fine with this 14K magnificently smooth writer!
